*Self Safari* is a discovery of the inner fabric weaved into the person we are, we think we are or want to become. This fabric represents experiences, emotions, idols, dreams and more. This expression is therapeutic – a means of letting out the inner demons and experiencing them viscerally. The space in front of the camera provides a backdrop for ideas, emotions or for people to reveal themselves. A friend once told me that the Japanese see less violence in their culture because they have positive outlets for articulation of societal taboos. I would like *Self Safari* to be considered one of these outlets. On a lighter note, this project is a fun and supportive vehicle for creative self-expression. The members of this safari determine the course, the emotions they wish to expose, or the persona they choose to portray. My challenge is to light the way to the desired destination and capture the images to be revealed.
